Quitline Iowa

Trained counselors provide assistance in making an individualized quit plan and provide ongoing support through optional follow-up calls. A 2-week supply of nicotine patches, gum or lozenges is also available.

The Lung HelpLine is staffed by registered nurses and respiratory therapists with extensive experience in the healthcare industry. Areas of expertise include: Education, Smoking Cessation, Respiratory Therapy, Lung Disease, Nursing, Physician Referral, Respiratory Home Care, Neonatal, Pediatric, Medication Counseling and Adult Intensive Care. The HelpLine is an excellent resource for those dealing with the consequences of tobacco use.
Freedom From Smoking Online

Through a 7-module plan, Freedom From Smoking Online offers individuals the opportunity to work through their quit attempt in the comfort and convenience of their own home. Topics include: expectations, encouragement, trigger understanding, stress management/relaxation techniques, relapse avoidance, coping with physical and psychological symptoms, quitting benefits and long-term strategies to stay quit.
Community Health Centers

Community Health Centers across Iowa have teamed up with the Iowa Department of Public Health to provide free tobacco cessation services for people trying to quit. Services include a 12-week supply of most FDA approved medications, including ChantixTM, and counseling services.
